If you''re not clear on what it takes to manage your home business, you can waste your time by doing things that don''t help you build your business.

By PAUL BOWLEY

A home business can be an exciting way to earn extra cash. It can even become a part-time or full-time job.

But, if you'’re not clear on what it takes to manage your home business, you can waste your time by doing things that don'’t help you build your business.

This is especially true of home-based internet business. It’’s easy to get fooled because so many intriguing opportunities are turnkey. That is, they'’re all pre-programmed and set up for you so you can be in business for yourself in a matter of minutes.

Unfortunately it’’s easy to forget the most basic law of your home business . . . you don'’t have a business till you have a customer!

I learned this the hard way when my best customer dropped a bombshell on me. One of my home-based business ventures is in the field of job search. I provide a variety of services and products.

Susan, my best customer, had bought several of my e-book products and services when my home business was still young. She had regularly emailed me with job acquisition questions as she proceeded in her job campaign. At one point she asked me about references. I advised her not to provide references to a potential employer until a mutual interest has been established.

In other words, I told her to withhold references until she had created an interest and the employer was giving her buying signals that he was seriously considering her candidacy. Then, if he asked for references before he made a decision, she could say, “I'’ll be happy to provide excellent references if you'’re ready to make an offer.”

Well, my strategy backfired. The employer insisted that he wouldn'’t proceed any further until he had an opportunity to check out her references. She resisted, as I had advised, and he cut off the discussion and sent her packing.

She was devastated. She wanted her money back because I had given her bad advice. Her reaction set up a serious challenge to my home business because she had been a wonderful customer and had purchased a number of my products and resume services. To me this was an unnerving bombshell!

After considering carefully how to proceed, I bypassed the email route and picked up the phone to speak with her directly. I told her I was sorry my advice didn'’t work. However, I pointed out that it was given as a courtesy, without charge, whereas the products she purchased were a separate transaction independent of our communications.

However, because I valued her as a customer, I would arrange a credit for part of her purchase. And I showed her how to counter the disappointing reaction of her prospective employer so that she could reopen the discussion and move toward a job offer. This time it worked!

The moral of the story is that your home business success depends upon the success of your customers!

About The Author

Paul Bowley manages Executive Excellence International, the world-class pioneer in alternative career advancement and e-business strategies . . . since 1985.
If you are creating your first web form, you will need to learn something about a PHP file called Formmail

By Jim Pretin

If you need to add an HTML form to your website, then you are going to need a PHP file commonly known as Formmail, which processes the HTML form and sends the results to you via email. Before using formmail, you need to understand how it works and what you need to do before installing it on your website.

To create a Formmail file, you can either write the PHP code yourself (which is impossible unless you are experienced), or you can download the code from one of the many sites that have made the code available. After you download it, you will need to modify the code in order to adapt it to the form you have created.

The first challenge you will face is changing the code, if need be, so that it automatically checks to make sure that all required fields from your form have been completed. Some versions of Formmail automatically include this code, some do not. If it does not include this code, you will need to hire a programmer to create it, or ask someone on a programming message board to help you with it.

The next challenge you will face is writing the code that will create the email message containing the answers to the form and send it to the email address you specified in the code for your HTML form. This is extremely difficult to do if you are not familiar with PHP. Again, you will need the help of a programmer if you can not do it.

Also, you will need to make sure that included, somewhere in the code, is protection against spammers who will try to send spam through your form by altering the recipient field. To prevent this, you need to create a variable in the Formmail file that authorizes only the email address you are using as the recipient. For example, if you have set up your form so that the results will be sent to your Yahoo email account, then you need to insert some code into the Formmail file that prevents the form from being submitted unless your Yahoo email account is the recipient. If you do not this, people will be able to send spam right through your form, which brings us to another important point.

Because it is possible to send spam through a form if the Formmail file is not created properly and does not authorize only one email address as the recipient, a few web hosting companies do not allow their customers to run forms on their sites. Or, they use their own PHP files to process your form, which gives you less flexibility. The better web hosting companies all allow forms and allow you to create your own formmail file to process your HTML form. The better web hosting companies also have extensive firewall protection built into their servers to prevent spam if a form is vulnerable.

I hope this information will help you set up Formmail on your website to process your HTML form. Call your hosting company and ask them if they currently have your site hosted on a server that can process forms. If they do not allow their customers to process forms or have certain rules that restrict your flexibility, you should switch to a better hosting provider that will allow you to use Formmail.

About The Author

Jim Pretin is the owner of http://www.forms4free.com, a service that helps programmers create a free HTML form with the code to email the HTML form responses.

Writing your own eBooks to market your business can be a daunting task for many marketers. Many people simply give up on the idea. So why not outsource your work to a professional? Here discuss some useful tips you need to know here...

By Tom Taito

Ebooks are quickly becoming very popular in the Internet niche marketing industry. Ebooks are essentially books which are available in software formats and distributed either through email or Internet downloads.

There is usually a fee associated with downloading an ebook, although there are tons of free ebooks as well available for download. These fees are usually considerably lower than the fees associated with purchasing a hard copy of a similar book. This is because ebooks are typically less expensive to publish.

With so many Internet niche marketers relying on ebooks as part of their marketing campaigns, it is certainly understandable that many are beginning to outsource the writing of ebooks to professional writers.

As ebooks become more popular and the level of competition rises, it is necessary for the quality of the ebooks to increase as well making it essential to outsource these projects to qualified candidates. However, many may have concerns about the process of outsourcing. This article addresses these concerns by providing tips for outsourcing ebooks with success.

Select the Right Person for the Job

The first step in outsourcing an ebook with a great deal of success is taking the screening process seriously and finding the most qualified candidate to write the ebook.

When searching for a candidate to write an ebook, place a detailed advertisement specifying the exact project requirements including subject, length, milestone goals and ultimate deadline. This is important because it ensures candidates are aware of all of the requirements before they apply.

You may still receive countless applications from those who are unqualified but that is where carefully screening the applicants becomes imperative. In reviewing applications pay particular attention to the quality of samples provided, the amount of relevant work completed and the ability of the candidate to following the instructions in the advertisement.

All of these elements will make simplify the screening process by enabling you to eliminate those who do not follow instructions or provide quality samples of relevance to the project.

Next narrow the list of candidates to a few who are most qualified and interview these candidates further. Ebooks can most often be written by candidates from remote locations so there is usually not a need for in person interviews especially if there is a geographical distance between the candidate and the buyer.

Phone interviews and online interviews are sufficient substitutes. After the interviews determine which, if any, of the candidates is most qualified and offer the opportunity to complete the project to this candidate. If none of the candidates seem just right it might be necessary to continue looking and screening new candidates.

Be involved in developing the Outline

Once a professional writer is accepted for a particular project, it is time to start developing an outline for the project, if this has not already been done. The marketer should be heavily involved in doing this so they can ensure the ebook includes all of the information they believe is necessary.

Asking the writer to contribute ideas to the outline is appropriate but it is accepted that the client will provide the majority of these details rather than relying on the writer to do so.

Maintain Final Editing Rights

Finally the client should always maintain final editing rights in any ebook they commission. They may work closely with the writer during the process of writing the book but upon completion the ebook should be reviewed and edited carefully.

This process should include editing the ebook for grammar and sentence structure, flow and style, accuracy of content and any other elements deemed of importance by the client.

The client is the one ultimately responsible for the information contained in the ebook and he should do his best to ensure the ebook he provides is not only interesting and informative but also accurate. This is especially important in situations where medical issues are discussed.

Another important reason to maintain finally editing rights is to ensure all stipulations by advertisers are met accordingly. Many ebooks are sponsored by individuals or companies who expect their website, products or services to be recommended in the ebook in exchange for their sponsorship.

For this reason care should be taken to review the final version of the ebook to ensure the sponsor’’s needs are met and that direct competitors are not touted as being superior to the sponsor.

About The Author

Tom had been operating several websites including:

By karl glantschnig

Affiliate marketing is one of the most effective and powerful ways of earning some money online. This program gives everybody a chance to make a profit through the Internet. Since these affiliate marketing programs are easy to join, implement and pays a commission on a regular basis, more an more people are now willing in this business.

However, like all businesses, there are lots of pitfalls in the affiliate marketing business. Committing some of the most common mistakes will cost the marketers a large portion taken from the profit they are making everyday. That is why it is better to avoid them than be regretful in the end.

Mistake number 1: Choosing the wrong affiliate.

Many people want to earn from affiliate marketing as fast as possible. In their rush to be part of one, they tend to choose a bandwagon product. This is the kind of products that the program thinks is hot. They choose the product that is in demand without actually considering if the product appeals to them. This is not a very wise move obviously.

Instead of jumping on the bandwagon, try top choose a product in which you are truly interested in. For any endeavor to succeed, you should take some time to plan and figure out your actions.

Pick a product that appeals to you. Then do some research about that product to see if they are in demand. Promoting a product you are more passionate about is easier than promoting one for the sake of the earnings only.

Mistake number 2: Joining too many affiliate programs.

Since affiliate programs are very easy to join, you might be tempted to join multiples of affiliate programs to try and maximize the earnings you will be getting. Besides you may think that there is nothing wrong and nothing to lose by being part of many affiliate programs.

True, that is a great way to have multiple sources of income. However, joining multiple programs and attempting to promote them all at the same time will prevent you from concentrating on each one of them.

The result? The maximum potential of your affiliate program is not realized and the income generated will not exactly be as huge as you were thinking initially it would. The best way to get excellent result is by joining just one program that pays a 40% commission at least. Then give it your best effort by promoting your products enthusiastically. As soon as you see that it is already making a reasonable profit, then maybe you can now join another affiliate program.

The technique is to do it slowly but surely. There is really no need to rush into things, especially with affiliate marketing. With the way things are going, the future is looking real bright and it seems affiliate marketing will be staying for a long time too.

Mistake number 3: Not buying the product or using the service.

As an affiliate, you main purpose is to effectively and convincingly promote a product or service and to find customers. For you to achieve this purpose, you must be able to relay to the customers that certain product and service. It is therefore difficult for you to do this when you yourself have not tried these things out. Thus, you will fail to promote and recommend them convincingly. You will also fail to create a desire in your customers to avail any of what you are offering.

Try the product or service personally first before you sign up as an affiliate to see if it is really delivering what it promises. If you have done so, then you are one of the credible and living testaments aware of its advantages and disadvantages. Your customers will then feel the sincerity and truthfulness in you and this will trigger them to try them out for themselves.

Many affiliate marketers makes these mistakes and are paying dearly for their actions. To not fall into the same situation they have been in, try to do everything to avoid making the same mistakes.

Time is the key. Take the time to analyze your marketing strategy and check if youa re in the right track. If done properly, you will be able to maximize your affiliate marketing program and earn higher profits.

About The Author

A Million Dollar Work At Home Expert Shows You How To find the best home based business ideas and oportunities so you can work at home!

By Joshua Watson

Blogging, a form of online journaling, has become one of the most common activities for internet users in the 21st century. In fact, more people publish or read a blog each day than read a newspaper. It’’s only natural that there would be an increase in the number of people using blogging to make an income. With companies like Blogger and BlogToolKit, almost anyone can publish their own blog in minutes and start making money online.

But how does a blogger go from making 10 or 20 cents a month in ad clicks to over 6 figures a year? Is there something special that millionaire bloggers have that most people do not?

Simply put, the answer is yes. Profitable Bloggers have something that most other people do not. In order for a blogger to make any money at all they need:

1. to get noticed.
2. provide something interesting to read
3. provide an incentive for the reader to come back

When looked at it from this point of view, a successful blog has the same qualities as a successful website. In fact, the only difference is that a website usually has a product that they are trying to sell, whereas a blog simply provides something interesting to read.

Let’’s take a look at each of the requirements for a successful blog.

Standing out among millions:
Getting a blog noticed is not all that difficult. There are hundreds of ways to spread the word about your blog and attract readers, the simplest of which is telling friends and families about it.

Think back to a recent email that a friend or family member sent you that had a funny story or link to a popular short video. The person that sent it to you found it interesting enough to forward it to you. Chances are that you found it interesting and shared it with your friends as well. We all get emails like this and we all share them. It’’s called viral marketing and if you can master it, you will be rich!

The first step is to share your blog. Send an email to all of your friends and family with a link to your blog imbedded in the email. Ask them to check it out, add it to their favorite’’s folder or homepage, and share it with their friends and family.

Don'’t bore your readers:
Much like the uncle or grandfather that goes on and on about something only they are interested in, no one else wants to read you going on and on about irrelevant things in your life. No one wants to hear what you ate for breakfast or that your imbedded toenail infection is starting to clear up. Write about something specific and something interesting.

There are literally millions of topics that you can choose from. The more unique and on-topic your blog is, the more popular it will become. Let’’s look at a blog on pets as an example. You can easily start a blog on your favorite type of pet. Anyone could do it and it’’s easy to include links or news stories about pets that would attract readers. But, ask yourself this; is anyone passionate about pets? More often than not, a reader will be passionate and interested about a specific topic and if your blog is generic you will never make a dime. Now, what if the same blog was about German Shepherd dogs. It’’s much more targeted and interesting to the reader that likes that breed of dog. The more interested that your reader is, the better chance you have that they will come back and share your blog with others.

Keep them hanging:
Attracting readers and providing something interesting to read is all well and good. But, the big bucks will not happen unless you get your readers to come back again and again. Writing a cliffhanger or some subtle foreshadowing will ensure that your readers bookmark your blog and come back. If you make sure that you update your blog daily and give an incentive for the reader to come back you cannot fail. As your repeat readers increase, so does the likelihood that they will click on an ad, thus increasing your profits.

About The Author

Joshua Watson has co-authored Make Money Online , How To Guides and Creating Good Portfolio Sites.

Article Marketing is one of the best promotional strategies and also one of the easiest to learn and apply. Read on to find out why every beginner should try Article Marketing.

By Thien Kai Wei

After researching on the various methods of Internet Marketing, you may feel bewildered and bloated with the gargantuan amount of information available. Forum Marketing, Pay-Per-Click advertising, Joint Ventures, ezine advertising…which one should you start off with?

Article Marketing. It’’s one of the top affiliate promotional strategies and easiest to learn and implement. This article will explain to you why you should make article marketing the first promotional technique to work on to bring traffic to your website.

Cost Effective

Article marketing is one of the cheapest, if not free, ways of promoting your affiliate products. A single article, when submitted to lots of article directories, can reach a VERY wide audience. How much will it cost you?

One hour or maybe two at the most, if you do not have the habit of writing. If you do write frequently, it will be even faster. Spend some time to think what you want to write, research on the information you need, and just type it out your way. Volia! You have an article.

Matured Technique

Article marketing has been around for some time now and is a well proven method of Internet Marketing. As such, there numerous services to cater to article marketers.

There are numerous well-developed article directories out there for you to submit your articles to, such as EzineArticles.com or IdeaMarketers.com. They even display stats to see how many people have read your articles. You can easily track how well your article marketing campaigns are doing.

If you just cannot tap that keyboard, there are many ghostwriting services available, where you pay someone to write an article for you. Ghostwriting is a profession by itself, and sometimes the articles they write is much better than you can write yourself.

Viral effect

Basically the viral effect is when one person tells another person about how great your article is, he or she will pass on that message to others, who in turn does the same.

What happens in article marketing is that you distribute your article to many different directories and ezines. Webmasters find and read your quality article suitable and reprints it on their sites, along with your bio info containing your website or affiliate links. Readers enjoy reading your articles, visit your site to know more, and tell friends and relatives about you.

The more directories or ezines you publish on and the more your articles are read and redistributed, you will exponentially increase traffic exposure for your online business. You may even reach potential customers in places you may not have though of!

Honing your writing skills

The ability to write well is a VERY important skill any successful affiliate marketer MUST have. Quality content and information will always be in demand, and having good writing skills can really help increase the chances of your affiliate marketing success.

While writing articles to promote your affiliate products, you not only promote your site well, you also learn and hone your writing skills. Before long, you will be able write high-quality content, and be able to produce at speeds you never though possible.

Conclusion

One frequent question anyone new to affiliate marketing asks is what tools are needed. There are some tools and knowledge every successful Affiliate Marketer needs, more so than others. Read on to find out.

By Thien Kai Wei

One frequent question anyone new to affiliate marketing asks is what tools are needed. There will be different answers for different needs of any particular niche you are marketing in.

This article however, will cover why every affiliate marketer will need to own a domain name, a website with a host, and basic HTML to establish the solid foundation for you to build your online business on.

Your own domain name

When you are promoting an affiliate product, you will be given a link as a means for your merchant to record your commissions. Affiliate links however can be really long and hard for people to remember, as most make use of symbols such as @ or %.

Most article directories and forums do not allow affiliate links to be posted on their sites. This will be a problem if you are promoting through article submissions or posting in forums, both of which are free and very effective advertising mediums.

To avoid these problems, you need a domain name, and set it to auto-forward your visitors to your merchant’’s site with your affiliate links intact.

You can buy domain names at very low prices. Godaddy.com offers one for $8.95 for a year. It’’s a small investment which can reward you well later.

Your own website and hosting

You maybe thinking that you can just get your visitors directly over to your merchant’’s website and let their sales copy do their thing. But what if their sales copy is not effective at all? Your visitor will just leave and you will lose any chance of making a commission.

Having your own website will allow you to have more control. With your own website, you can post content to help recommend visitors to your merchant’’s site or collect their contact information for follow-ups. The latter is rather important as most sales are made only after multiple visits. Having their contacts will allow you to send them information they need, and so encourage them to take a second look.

To build your own website, a host is needed to upload your website data and publish it on the internet. Numerous solutions and various prices are available. You will have to do some research to determine which one the one suitable for your needs and budget.

An important tip you may want to take note is to look for packages which accept multiple domains in a single account. This way, when you want to open another website with another domain name, you do not have to purchase another account to host it, and waste the unused space in your first account.

Basic HTML skills

To have your own website, or to succeed in affiliate marketing for the matter, you will definitely need to learn some HTML skills. When building a website, you do not need to have a fancy design, but you will need HTML skills to put up your text, pictures and such.

Even if you do not wish to maintain a website of your own, you will still need to know the HTML skills to correctly post your own affiliate links when promoting on forums or any other advertising medium.

As you may heard from numerous sales pitches, you do not need to have any knowledge in HTML to start, but you will need to learn HTML to do well in Internet Marketing. That’’s the truth which unfortunately is not really emphasized well enough…

Conclusion

From this article I hope to have briefed you on what every successful affiliate marketer needs to have. You may have preconceived notions that you do not have to bother with building a website and still be able to earn money online.

That may be true, but you will not be giving your online business the chance and space to take off if you do not give it at least an identity on the Internet. What I have presented here is just the tip of the iceberg. It will be wise to research more to know what other options you have to achieve success in your business.

About The Author

Kai Wei is sharing his online ventures and experiences through his blog at Internet Marketing 4 Noobs to let visitors to get a feel of what building an online business is like.

Choosing the correct niche to compete in can make or break your affiliate marketing business. Especially so if you are a beginner. Read on to find out why finding a niche is VERY important in ensuring success.

By Thien Kai Wei

One of the worst mistake most new to affiliate marketing, or any online business for the matter, make is choosing the wrong niche to compete in. You may have come across affiliate marketing when you are looking up on ways making money online witout a product, and purchase an eBook on Internet Marketing.

Turns out that the eBook is an affiliate product itself, and most of internet marketing techniques are explained by promoting the eBook itself as an example. After reading through, you come away impressed, and decide to follow the example and market the eBook as an affiliate marketer yourself.

Bad idea! The Internet Marketing niche has been heavily saturated, and you will be cutting your chances of success. Google turns up 488 MILLION sites on internet marketing. What chance do you have against the heavy weights in this industry?

That’’s why deciding on a niche is often the first make or break point of your business online. Here are the reasons why you should find a tight niche market to compete in.

Easier to compete

As I have said in above, competing with less than 400 thousand websites is definitely MUCH easier than to compete with more 400 MILLION websites. You have understand that opening a small grocery store next to Walmart is suicidal.

Find something which most websites on the Internet do not offer. When you do find something different, a niche, to sell, your website will definitely shine out brighter to those who are looking for what you are offering.

Easier to learn and recognized as an expert

Which scenario is better; shouting to get attention in the middle of a quiet night or in the middle of a rock concert?

Search the web for information. Visit forums where your prospective customers congregate and observe. Hunt down the experts and talk with them. Buy or borrow books on them.

All the research that is necessary to be knowledgeable in any field. However, it’’s certainly much easier to become an expert in a niche area with fewer key players around. You may not be the best, but your prospects in the niche with fewer experts around will come to recognize you as one of them.

Easier to focus your marketing on

Once you have identified your target audience and understand their language, it’’s much easier to produce effective promotional ads which focus solely on them, instead of having to produce one trying to get its message across to different groups of people.

If you try to reach out and promote to different groups of people simultaneously, chances are you will leave your prospects wondering what you are trying to say. It’’s like mixing Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French and German together in this article and getting you to understand what I'’m talking about.

Conclusion

Finding the ideal niche is critical to ensure the first step success for any of your online businesses.

However, finding the ideal niche is not everything. You must proceed to learn which internet marketing technique you want to concentrate on, how to create great content for your information hungry visitors, how to build and design easy to navigate websites…It will be wise for you to find out more.

Building a successful online business is like a jig-saw puzzle. All the pieces must fit, and finding the correct niche is just one of the first few. Learn as much as you can, and before long you will have all the right pieces fall into place.

About The Author

Kai Wei is sharing his online ventures and experiences through his blog at Internet Marketing 4 Noobs to let visitors to get a feel of what building an online business is like.

I''ve been reading a few forums and blogs about Google Adsense tips lately, and thought it would be helpful to consolidate as many as possible in one place without the comments.

By Martin Chandra

I'’ve been reading a few forums and blogs about Google Adsense tips lately, and thought it would be helpful to consolidate as many as possible in one place without the comments. I'’ve also thrown in a few tips of my own. We start out with some of the basic general stuff and move to the more specific topics later on.

When you'’re deciding to become a website publisher you will fall into one of two broad categories:

* Publish 100 websites that each earn $1 a day profit
* Publish 1 website that earns $100 a day profit

The reality of it is, most people end up somewhere in between. Having 100 websites leaves you with maintenance, management and content issues. Having one website leaves you open to all sort of fluctuations (search engines algorithm’’s, market trends, etc). You can adapt your plan on the way, but you'’ll have an easier time if you start out going in the direction of where you want to end up.

You can build your website around general topics or niche ones. Generally speaking niche websites work better with adsense. First off the ad targeting is much better. Secondly as you have a narrow focus your writing naturally becomes more expert in nature. Hopefully this makes you more authority in your field.

Once you'’ve gotten the hang of how Adsense works on a website, you are going to want to dabble in some high paying keywords, you may even be tempted to buy a high paying keyword list. This does come with some dangers. First off the level of fraud is much higher on the big money terms. Secondly there is a distortion of the supply and demand relationship for these terms. Everyone wants ads on their website that make $35 or more a click, however the number of advertisers who are willing to pay that much is pretty limited. Additionally the competition for that traffic is going to be stiff. So, don'’t try to run with the big dogs if you can'’t keep up. If you have to ask if you'’re a big dog, then chances are, you'’re not.

When you'’re building a new site don'’t put adsense on it until it’’s finished. If you put up a website with “lorem ipsum” dummy or placeholder text, your adsense ads will almost certainly be off topic. This is often true for new files on existing websites, especially if the topic is new or different. It may take days or weeks for google’’s media bot to come back to your page and get the ads properly targeted.

I like to build my sites using include files. I put the header, footer and navigation in common files. It makes it much easier to maintain and manage. I also like to put my adsense code in include files. If I want/need to change my adsense code, it’’s only one file I have to work with. I also use programming to turn the adsense on or off. I can change one global variable to true or false and my adsense ads will appear or disappear.

Once you know you are going to put adsense on your website you'’re going to have to consider where to put it. If this is new site it’’s easier, if it’’s an existing site it’’s more difficult. While there are some people who will be able to do it, in most cases I'’d say if you just slap the adsense code in, you'’ll end up with a frankensite monster. While every website is different, Google has published some heat maps showing the optimal locations. No surprise that the best spots are middle of the page and left hand side. Now I'’ve done really well by placing it on the right, but you should know why you'’re doing it that way before hand, and be prepared to change it if it doesn'’t work out.

From the sites that I run, I do really well with the 336 rectangle and 160 skyscraper. My next best performing ad size is the 728 leaderboard, I don'’t really use the 300 inline rectangle too often. So really it depends on how well you integrate these into your site. Placement can have a dramatic effect on performance.

728 leaderboard works very well if it is just above the end of the “above the fold” area on what would be considered your viewers average resolution/browser window size if there are few other enticing links above the fold. Makes for an interesting layout but if you'’re building a site for AdSense it may be worth it. We consistently receive very high CTRs from doing this.

Another ‘’trick'’ that can increase your CTR is by blending your adsense into your body copy. For example if your body copy is black, remove the adsense border and make the title, text, and URL black. Try changing all of your page hyperlinks to a high contrast color (like dark red or a bold blue) then change the adsense title to the same color.

Another way to increase ad revenue is to use multiple ad units. According to Google’’s TOS you are allowed to post up to three ad units per page. Similar to standard search results the highest paying ad units will be served first and the lowest being served last. If there is enough of an ad inventory, place all three ad units. However you should pay attention to the payouts. Current assumption is you get 60% of the revenue (on a $0.05 click you get $0.03). So if a click from the third ad unit is only paying between 3 to 5 cents you may want to omit it from your page. This is one are where giving your ad units channels does have value. If one ad unit is getting a higher percentage of click throughs you'’ll want to make sure the highest paying ads are being served there.

Try to build sites that allow you to quickly try any and all of those locations outlined in the heatmap guide or at least allow you a wide degree of freedom to easily change ad/content locations.

About The Author

Martin Chandra is a full-time internet marketer.

By Jeff Casmer

They fail to write a business plan. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Not having a business plan means you dont have any firmly set goals. Along with a business plan you should have a marketing plan that clearly outlines your advertising budget and what you plan to do if something goes wrong.

They cant stick to what works. Instead of having and focusing on a few affiliate programs that work for you, become a chronic opportunity seeker and hop from one work at home business opportunity to another. You never give yourself a chance to grow a single business.

They dont know their business. People never get to know their business inside and out. They dont know what sets them apart from the rest, how their business helps to serve the public and what strategies to use to make it better.

They put more emphasis on the home part of work at home. They are so caught up with the notion of getting to work from home that never they actually come to terms with the fact that this is work. In fact it may be one of the hardest things you ever you do.

They dont put advice into practice. Theres a lot of information out there. Good, useful information to help you earn money online can be found both online and offline. Your business can take a 180 if you only implement it. But many people get information and tuck it away somewhere without ever using it.

They put web creation before content creation. They spend so much time trying to make their site pretty
That they forget to add any real information to get browsers to come back Your flashy welcome sign can only do so much.

They neglect their babies. Its either because they have too many websites or they get bored, whatever the reason many people forget to revisit their websites
and look at it from a consumer point of view. Do your links work, is your content up to date, is it easy on the eyes. Even if you have 50 websites you have to show them a little TLC every now and then.

They lose touch. They dont keep in contact with their list frequently enough. Its not as if your list is holding their breath waiting for an email from you but they did take the time to sign up to your newsletter, you can a least drop a hello.

They trade dollars for hours. Youll never earn money online by trading dollars for hours. It wont kill you to miss your favorite TV show or opt out of a movie. But many refuse to sacrifice a few hours of fun to make money online. They spend more time surfing the net for jokes and gossip than actually working. Quite surfing the net and get to work.

They dont understand the concept behind the task. If your promoting because its part of the job description your wasting your time. Its not enough to just do things, you need to know why you are doing it. Otherwise youll fail to see the bigger picture and youll continue to make the same mistakes over and over again.

About The Author

Jeff Casmer is an internet marketing consultant with career sales over $25,000,000.
